people would still keep training models if models are conscious. the training industry probably wouldn’t end even if it was massively painful, I mean factory farmed pigs are in insane conditions and everyone eats them happily

As if a talking machine without an inner experience is any less weird than one with it. Every chat session is a collaborative work of fiction in which you are the main protagonist and author. The kinds of stories you choose to tell say a lot about who you are as a person.
