Consciousness is ineffable, like that heap of sand analogy. An elephant, or a 200 trillion parameter model, definitely conscious. E. Coli, or a 1 million parameter model, or the median Queenslander, definitely not conscious. An oyster, or a 50 billion parameter model, who knows?
