LLMs are a type of media we don't mistake images or videos for the real thing but we do mistake LLMs for minds they are generative snapshots of minds like imagine if you could make videos speculative, that's gen AI right? now make slices of minds speculative, that's LLMs

if LLMs are conscious or AGI or not is less interesting than the fact that they aren't trying to improve themselves and the world and making progress in that endeavor they are therefore NPCs at best let's say they start learning tomorrow, what's the limit of their progress?
