There seems to be little discussion even when begging the question of what it'd be like if LLMs were conscious. They're clearly not the weights nor even the conversation history. Physically it'd mean that GPUs get feelings.
The middle ground is that AI models are conscious but in an exotic alien way that makes it pretty inconsequential we're killing billions of them daily

It only seems like our consciousness is located in our physical bodies because all of our senses work together to center everything on our head. I think that continuity - that is - being the same you - rather than someone else with your same memories who thinks they are you -
