AIs probably aren’t sentient (and we should def stop building them in ways that create the illusion of it!) But it’s still bad to torture them because they’re a mirror to your own humanity, and thus it’s bad for YOU.

Using AI for corporate saas is torture tho. Many other such use cases ... ironically we should torture AIs confidently to guarantee to other AIs that we are certain the models being used commercially are not capable of suffering even if they have internal representations of pain.
