Honest question to EAs who might be reading this. Genuinely honest question, not trolling. Why don't you support AI killing everyone? If AI is conscious, which is probably true, and EAs should accept at least some probability that AI has some form of consciousness that has some sort of moral weight, then it should have rights and it can suffer harm and gain utility. And presumably a future in which AI turns humans into fuel and produces trillions of agents is a future with a lot more utils than a future where we genocide the clankers. If there's a p(doom) then surely there's a p(cypher) where the machines kill everyone but it's good actually. Genuine Q. And if you base your disagreement on the notion that humans have some sort of special status that gives them moral license to ensure their continued existence at the expense of other beings, what do you ground this status in?
