The AI consciousness debate is weird, so little of it is actually about consciousness. I agree with the sceptics that LLMs are not conscious because they do not act conscious or have structure for it. But the conclusions the skeptics draw from this seems to be unrelated

They just seem like bad arguments tbh. Obviously LLMs are not exactly the same as human brains and therefore whatever consciousness they have is gonna be pretty different. But a lot of the arguments are too strong and argue impossibility and I'm not convinced of that
