One thing speculative AI fiction seemed to miss is just how much time we spend asking: "what kind/what is the nature of the mind we have brought here?" it always seem3d tacitly accepted that what was in any one of the sentient artificial beings was simply "a soul" or "a mind", no further demarcation necessary
